Hi Greg –
I like the site so far. I need to be reading “The Things They Carried” at some point…I’ve read excerpts only.

1. The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail-Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee
This is actually a play, but I love some of the ideas here, from taxes and war to education.
2. Hegemony or Survival- Noam Chomsky
Anything by Chomsky is good, but this one is fairly recent, and I loved it.
3. The Future of Freedom- Fareed Zakaria
I think this is the one that discusses the clash of civilizations.

4. D Scarlino - September 3, 2007

A Force More Powerful: A Century of Nonviolence; Jack DuVall and Peter Ackerman

Nineteen Eighty Four; George Orwell

Greg, I’m impressed with your blogs. I’m an activist from Utica who blogs as well, much of it on MySpace.

It’s good to know that there are other people out there to advocate a progressive (no pun intended) agenda.

Keep up the good work.
